I have a government process/operations questions. what happens if/when the debt ceiling gets raised? Does that just give the treasury the opportunity to issue more debt to finance government operations or does it mean something else? If it does mean that, how do they determine what kind of debt (duration) to issue? I’m trying to understand the order of operations and potential outcomes.
